Bacillus:(pl.bacilli)

A rod shaped bacteria capable of forming spores in an oxygen enhanced environment.

Bacterium:(pl. bacteria)

The simplest form of non-chlorophyll plant form organisms.

Basidia:

Spore bearing cells.

Basidiocarp:

The fruit body of a mushroom that reproduces through basidia.

Basidiomycetes:

The fungi group that have spore bearing cells (Basidia) externally on a club-shaped cells (basidium).

Basidium, bassidia:

A club-shaped fertile cell inside of which meiosis occurs and sexual spores are produced.

Binucleate:

Containing two nuclei in a single cell.

Border break:

A general term for the first flush that often occurs around the edge of a substrate in a container.

Bracket fungus:

Fungi that form shelf-like spore bearing bodies, e g on tree trunks. (Basidiomycete.)
