Gelatinous:

The consistency of jelly.

Genotype:

The genetic constitution of an organism. The genotype produces the phenotype.

Gentropism:

Growing in response to gravity.

Gill:

The part of the fungi that contains the basidia as in the Agaric-type fungi.

Glabrescent:

Becoming smooth.

Glabrous:

Smooth or bald.

Glutinous:

A highly viscous gelatinous layer, having an extreme condition of viscidity.

Gram:

A method used for separating bacteria in which bacteria are stained with crystal violet and then washed with iodine solution.

Gram positive bacteria (bacillus) retain the dye.

Gram negative bacteria (pseudomonas and some of the Bacillus) lose the dye.

Gregarious:

Growing in numerous close clusters or groups of the same kind.
